PAROS INFO

The yoga courses are given on Paros, one of the most beautiful islands of the Cyclades. The Cyclades are a group of islands in the Aegean Sea between Athens and Crete, famous for its beauty and spectaculaire architecture. No building is higher than two floors and most of the houses are the typical white houses with blue doors and windows.

Paros is the most central island of the Cyclades and there are several ferries (daily) to many other islands.

Aliki

Aliki is a small fishing village at the still quiet south-coast of Paros. There are several lovely beaches close by, on walking distance, and a few taverna's / restaurants at the seaside. Beautiful sunsets to enjoy in the afternoon.

No nightlife, no discotheques, just calmness and tranquillity.....except for an occasional village party which are realy nice.

Aliki and Oona's yoga, the perfect combination to realy unwind from your daily stress, relax and enjoy your holiday.

Transport

A taxi from the port (Parikia) to Aliki costs about 20 - 25 euros. It is common in Greece to order a taxi at least 24 hrs. in advance. The telephone number of the taxi in Parikia = (0030) 22840 - 21671.

The bus station is right next to the harbor and a ride to Aliki cost about 2 euros p.p. The bus runs several times a day up and down. Aliki has a few bus stops, so tell the driver in which hotel you stay, and he will tell you when to get off. Click here for up to date bus timetable.

If you prefer to have your own transportation, you can also rent a car with Chaniotis car rental. Please e-mail well in advance so that this car will be waiting for you on arrival. Here you can also rent a bike, quad or bicycle.

You must order at least 24 hours in advance, preferably earlier.

Other things to do and places to go

There are many nice places to go to on the island. What I like most about Paros is its diversity. Every village, every beach, every area, is very different; has it's own atmosphere and visitors. I will give you my selection here, but of course it's very personal.
